Legal Question in Employment Law in Canada
Contracts between countries
My friend was recently asked to be a lead in a movie in Canada. To ensure that she gets everything promised, she wants a contract with the director of the movie. How can we be sure that the contract is legally binding in both countries? Also, would a faxed contract still be binding? Is a contract even the way to go in this situation, or are we missing something?

Re: Contracts between countries
You can specify in the contract which jurisdiction will govern. An agreement signed by fax is risky. You will need to prove that the fax signature is a real signature. A contract is indeed the way to go, but be careful. It will govern for and against.
