Legal Question in Employment Law in Canada
employment standards query
If a Sole Proprietorship business Incorporates, and an Order to Pay (a former employee) through Employment Standards is received by the Company after it has incorporated, is the owner of the business still liable on a personal level for debts incurred, even though the business has now been incorporated and no longer a Sole Proprietorship? Or do any prior debts incurred while the Company was a Sole Proprietorship still stand against the owner of the business on a personal level in the now Incorporated company?
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance with this matter.
