Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Canada

Birth injury+procedure
My new granddaughter had a difficult delivery (emergency C), and I suspect oxygen deprivation and brain injury as a result. What forms and information do I need to advise the parents to collect in case further action is needed, and what is the statute of limitations on such a case, according to Canadian Law (Ontario).
