I would refer you to the Law Society of Upper Canada's website which specifically addresses the procedure when you have a complaint about your lawyers' bill.

Re: help with my case

In British Columbia you may arrange an Appointment for a hearing before the Registrar of the Supreme Court under the Legal Professions Act. The Registrar will examine the fee agreement and determine if the charges are in accordance with it. In B.C. if a lawyer is charging a percentage of the recovery that is dependant on a successful outcome, the contract to do so must be in writing. This advice applies to B.C. only; the law may or may not be similar to that of other Provinces or Territories.
