Legal Question in Personal Injury in Canada
personal injury lawsuit
Hi. Is there a limit in Canada that a lawsuit can be settled for out of court? Specifically regarding a personal injury case resulting from a motor vehicle collision. If the lawsuit is for a particular amount does it automatically have to go to court?

Re: personal injury lawsuit
We are not sure of your question.
There is no such thing as a law "in Canada" dealing with personal injury; all Provinces and Territories govern their civil claims according to their own governments wishes.
In British Columbia you may settle any lawsuit for personal injury out of Court; you may sue for damages for any personal injury and refuse to settle and go to court. In British Coklumbia there is no such thing as a lawwuit for a particular amount; claims are for unspecified damages, unlike some jurisdictions where you specify the amount you are seeking.
