Legal Question in Personal Injury in Canada

Privacy act pertaining to discovery in a civil litigation case

My medical records were shown to a Human Resources Manager and a President of a branch that I am still a legal employee of that I am suing for harassment and bullying.

Why would my personal medical records be shown to anyone other than legal counsel and has my rights been violated under the Privacy Act?

Regards

Privacy Legislation and judicial interpretation of it varies in each Province; you must consult a lawyer in your own Province. You may also call the Information & Privacy Commissioner's office (who may be known by a different title in your Province)and ask the question - often these offices are very helpful.
