demands made in a will, are they mandatory?

A mother died,will said;my brother and i were to each rec' 1.00 and we were to pay for all her debts,creamation,and delivery to crematorium costs.she said we had robbed her of thousands of dollars and this was our 'gift' left in her will to us. she left a file with a lawyer, she says will verify our debt to her.can she dump her body on us like this?do we have to pay all her bills and expenses?how can we get out of this?email me at [email protected] with the answer.

No. The only way you could be made to pay estate debts is if you actually owe the estate money and it is collected from you and applied to estate debts by the personal representative ( Executor or Administrator).
