Executor

is there a time limit when the exectutor is to administor the will. or can it be at the ececutor's leasure? i am a beneficiary to a will but have not received my gifts yet. i am wondering what my course of action could be?

There is an unwritten custom or 'rule' that the executor has roughly a year to administer an estate. This will be subject to the relative values and/or complexity of the estate holdings. If it has been beyond that time period, you have asked for an accounting from the executor and he/she has not provided you with one, you have several options available. You are able to enfore your rights as a beneficiary under the will if you so choose. This will likely require hiring a lawyer and the corresponding expense. I would try contacting the executor to tell them of your concern before proceeding with a court action.
