Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Canada

My father-in-law recently passed and while his actual estate was not very large he had pretty sizeable life insurance policies. Here in lies the problem, he named his sometimes girlfriends daughter (who is 14) as the beneficiary to these. In my husbands parents divorce decree from 9 years ago states that my husband(he's an only child) is to be sole beneficiary to all current and eventual life insurance policies. Now the question is would this court document trump the beneficiary his father named?
