Life Insurance
Does a life insurance of a deceased person have to pay their funeral expenses. Has a will and only asset is a home. Can the funeral expenses be paid from the sale of the home and insurance money kept by the beneficaries.

Funeral expenses are a debt of the estate. Unless the estate of the deceased person was the beneficiary or there was an insurance trust which specified covering funeral expenses the insurance proceeds are payable to the designated beneficiaries without any charge or liability for funeral costs or any estate debt.
