Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Canada

Manitoba Law: Wills and Estates

I have a Life Interest from my grandmothers estate which is set up to pay me monthly installments of all the interest generated by the trust account.

Ive been informed that all fees regarding or generated by the trust, mainly administrative, accounting, and taxes are the responsibility of the Life Interest beneficiary and therefore are deducted from the interest generated by the trust and are not to come from the capital of the trust.

If these terms are not addressed in the will in any way are they determined by provincial law or the discretion of the Trustee / Executor?

If all these fees are coming from what now is to be my only inheritance. Do I not have the right to full disclosure of all fees charged to the estate from the Trustee / Executor?

If I dont agree with a fee or specifically the Trustees choice of accountants doing the taxes what can I do about it if the Trustee is uncooperative? Do I have the right to assign or at least influence the trustees choice of accountants?

Wrong jurisdiction. Please direct the question to a Manitoba law firm, not a British Columbia law firm.
