who is present when a will is read? Is it the beneficiaries or anyone who wants to be present?

As noted on the LawGuru website questions directed to this lawfirm must be answered with reference to British Columbia law. The law varies from Province to Province and may not be the same in other Provinces or Territories.

In BC, there is no such thing as "reading the will"; we suspect the same is true in most if not all all other Provinces & Territories. In BC, the executor is required to send a copy of the Will to various classes of people - principally thos mentioned in it and those who have, by law, a right to contest it.
