Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Canada
I wanted to know how long it is supposed to take for my mother's will/estate to be settled as it has been over a year now. I was led to believe that if a will was made it would take maybe at the most up to a year. Should I be getting a lawyer to check this out?? My oldest sister and brother are the "executors" and she has taken over the paperwork but every time I ask for information on how she's doing I hear nothing. I am very worried now that maybe she has spent a good portion of my Mom's assets and is trying to put it back into the bank account. Thank you.

We can not advise on the law in any Province other than British Columbia, but your question is not really about the law. You should immediately see a lawyer about this sitation; the way to compel an accounting and otherwise deal with this situation is beyond the capability of a non-lawyer.
