Legal Question in Banking Law in China
My name is Jason Cormier. I am currently employed in China. Recently, I was offered an opportunity for free money- a scam, and I bought it. I've lost some money, but more importantly than that, I am embarrassed and angry. I don't want to proceed with legal action as it was a minor loss and a good lesson was learned, but I do want it to be over.
Now, the other party claims I should give him power of attorney, so the "so-called " funds ownership can be transferred to his name. I don't want to do this; but as he has some personal information like my full name, passport number and city of birth- I am concerned that he might pursue legal action against my family abroad.
I hope you can recommend a suitable course of action.
Thanks in advance,
Jason Cormier.
