Legal Question in Consumer Law in China
I'm an international student in China attending Sun Yat Sen University, a middle agent which I didn't use request $1000 USD, I checked with the school, they said I had to pay it. All they did was send the admission notice to the school. Could there be a lawsuit for making such an unjust charge for doing almost nothing?

From what you wrote,I can't see clearly what specific contract exist between you and the said agent. If you and them have enter into a agreement and that agreement provides your obligation to pay them, then perhaps you should obey the obligation, unless they breached the contract.
You can call me or email me for further advice.
