permanent visa
I have been corresponding with a
Chinese woman who I have visited
once and intend to visit again in Dec
07. She is a college teacher in china
and will visit me in July & Aug 08.
How long will it take to get her and
her child a permanent visa to stay
here with me.

Assuming you are U.S. citizen and plan to marry her during her visit here in 2008, it generally takes 3 to 6 months to adjust her status to permanent resident.
Another way to petition for her and her child while she's in China is either through K-1 fiancee visa or K-3 spouse visa, and it generally takes 6 to 9 months to obtain such non-immigrant visas.
