Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

My husband's ex-wife told him that their divorce was final, so we got married. When the divorce paperwork arrived in the mail 2 weeks later, the final date it was recorded at the courthouse was 7 days after we had already gotten married? How do we fix this? We've been "married" 16 years now.

This happened 16 years ago? Then you have two choices. At this point, you have been telling the world (I presume based on your description) that you are married for the past 16 years. Under Colorado law, you are long since common law married. If you wanted to separate now, you would have to go through a divorce. If no one has challenged the validity of your marriage after all this time, it is unlikely that anyone will. If the formal legal document has become an issue for some reason, you can always go to the Courthouse and "marry" again.
