Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Colorado

my friend's mother suddenly died and

she was supposed to have recieved an inheritance from her mother. Somehow the mother's newest husband got power of attorney and changed the will of the mother. is this legal? because of the suddeness of her deth we suspect foul play. what can we do. the mother died in 2003 and my friend just found out about it last year. please help us. my friends mom had over ten million dollars in the year 1999.

A Power of Attorney will not allow him to change her will. If you have a copy of the original will, then I STRONGLY suggest you contact an estate planning attorney (even if not our firm) and begin a Probate proceeding ASAP.

Was the estate ever probated? Where did she die? Do you have a copy of the will? As you can see, there are more questions than answers here. You should have this situation reviewed by an attorney to determine what, if anything, can be done.
