Legal Question in Banking Law in Colorado
Over Drawn Account
Despite dozens of conversations and words of advice to our adult daughter (21 years old), she continues to over draw on her checking account. We bailed her out once, but we have told her we won't do it again. Is there a dollar amount that must be reached before the bank will take legal action against her? Without any consequences, we fear she will continue racking up over draft charges and ruin her credit. Thanks! Desperate in Denver

Re: Over Drawn Account
Banks love OD charges. They will likely not close the account or report to credit bureaus as long as the ODs get covered and they get their fees.Get her a DEBIT card and have her stick to using that. It won't work if there's no $ in account.
