Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Colorado
My bankruptcy was in 2002 before the new bankruptcy law. Under the law when I did my bankruptcy the time for it to remain on my credit report was 7 years. How can it be 10 years now?

The time period for reporting of bankruptcy information under the Fair Credit Reporting Act has been 10 years since 1978. Prior to that time, it was 14 years.
