Legal Question in Business Law in Colorado
Am I entitled to severance payment?
80 % in my company got laid off with a severance payment. I didnt but I accepted a different job 2 weeks after the lay off was anounced. They back filled one of the laid off employees in my old position. Am I entitled to the same severance that he would have gotten? Understand, that the back filled employee would have got a comparable package had I been laid off. I provided notice 2 days prior to the last day of work for the laid off employees. I should also mention that I worked for this company for 9 years.
Thank you, Daphne

Re: Am I entitled to severance payment?
There is no entitlement to severance under the law unless you have a contract which provides for that.
