Legal Question in Business Law in Colorado
Filing Mechanic's lien
I am attempting to file a mechanic's lien, but the property owner never picked up the certified letter with the intent to file statement. Can I still file the lien? I have sent 3 separate certified letters, and am certain that the property owner resides at the address I mailed to.

Re: Filing Mechanic's lien
Afternoon,
If they refuse certified mail, you will need to arrange for personal service. The courts have generally strictly construed the service requirement, so if you don't serve them properly the lien is normally unenforceable.
Good luck.
