Legal Question in Business Law in Colorado
I want to form a LLC in Colorado and I will be the only person and will tax like a pass-thru entity. I'm concerned about placing my home address anywhere on the "Articles of Organization" document as I want to remain private. This is going to be a small software and consulting firm.
I was thinking of using a MailBox service street address and use that for the following address: Principal Office Address, Mailing Address of the Person Forming the Limited Liability Company and the Individual Causing Delivery address.
I realize that I need a real registered agent and I will pay a service to get that taken care of. By doing this I can hide my home address.
Is this an acceptable setup for my LLC address? I as I wasn't sure if I need to actually have my business documents available at the "Principal Office Address"?
1 Answer from Attorneys
As a Franchise Attorney I believe the answer is as long as you use a physical street address (not just a P.O. box address), you should be fine. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
