Legal Question in Business Law in Colorado
Holding Buyer to Contract
A man bought a dog from me expressly to show. I have a contract with him that is signed. He is to give me 14 days notice if he decides to sell. He placed her on a web site for sale without telling me first. Then when I offered to buy her back he refused.

Re: Holding Buyer to Contract
What your next step is in enforcing the contract depends upon how the contract reads. To start, however, you might try sending a copy of the contract to him along with your written notice that you intend to enforce the contract. After that, follow what the contract calls for. If the contract is ambiguous, or if you are unsure of what is required as the next step, you might want to have an attorney look at it for you and give you guidance.
Unfortunately, when it comes to enforcement of contracts, in most cases, you cannot simply turn it over to a state agency for follow up. You will have to press forward with the matter.
Good luck!
