Legal Question in Business Law in Colorado
this is why im asking.
If i were to come up with an idea and present it to a company, how would i hold on to that idea so know one can take it. is it called patenting or copyrighting. what is it called and where would i go to get it patent or copyrighted. what is that called?

Generally, to protect a submission requires a confidentiality agreement.
Copyrights, patents, trademarks, trade secrets and other related matters are related to protection of specific intellectual property and secrets. Those really do not protect "ideas."
