non-competes-Colorado and Ohio based business
Colorado has a statute which invalidates any non-compete. What if the non-compete was signed by an independent contractor in Colorado working with a business based in Ohio? Is a non-compete legal if the worker lives in the protected state?

Afternoon,
The Colorado statute does not by its terms invalidate non-compete agreements. You need to provide the non-complete to an attorney to review of if you have no agreement in place yet, contact a Colorado attorney to draft an appropriate agreement.

Colorado generally permits non-competes with certain exceptions. The only state that operates otherwise, as far as I know, is California. Unless your non-compete falls within the exceptions to the general rule, it will be enforceable.
