Legal Question in Business Law in Colorado
I signed a licensing agreement on July 2000 but the effective date is April 2001. My licensing agreement automatically renews at 10 years. So does it go by the signing date or effective date.
Thank you

As a Franchise Attorney I can say this. It really depends on the terms of your "licensing agreement." Also, most licensing agreements are really illegal franchises or business opportunities in disguise. If you were not given a detailed disclosure document for franchising or a business opportunity before you signed, you may have a right to rescind the entire transaction. Consult with a good franchise attorney for specific advice.
