terminated

I was advised by phone on 1-7 that my possition with the company was to be eliminated as of 1-7

I was piad as both waged and an salary ,employee, Earning in exess of 160 k. As it turns out my position is essential to the operations, and has not been done away with.

I was let go under false pretences and was not even paid a severance

What are my options?

Re: terminated

Unless you have an express or implied contract or the termination was against public policy (such as for race, religion, gender, so on) they are free to terminate you. They can also be dishonest as to the reason, if they give you one. Severance is also not required unless you have a contract regarding severance.
