Can wife wipe out checking account used to pay joint bills without consent? Papers for divorce were already filed

If it was a joint account, she didn't need your consent. Keep an accounting, though, for the property settlement, if the funds didn't go to paying bills but straight into her pocket for safekeeping.

Next divorce, close the account BEFORE filing papers.
