Is it legal or illegal for us to be together?

Is it legal or is it illegal in the state of Colorado for a 16 year old female born on February 11, 1987 to have sexual relations with a 20 year old male born April 18, 1983?

Assuming everything is consentual, it is legal. CRS �18-3-405 defines sexual assault on a child as child under 15 and actor atleast 4 years older.

There is a second consideration. If you are in a position of trust to the child, then you are in violation of law. Position of trust is a broadly defined phrase that essentially means that you are like a parent or guardian to the child (ie teacher, coach, babysitter, clergy, bus driver, etc).

I see no reason based on these facts that you are in violation of the law.
