My son took the responsibility to watch a dog while owner was in jail for 6 months. It did not work out so my son asked if I would take the dog. 4 months ago the man got out of jail and did not try to contact me. The dog and I have bonded and I ant to keep him. Do I have any legal rights

You were given someone else's dog by your son and you want to know if you can keep it? Of course not. It's not your dog. You can't keep other people's property just because you like it.
