Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Colorado
If I asked permission to pray 5 minutes before service at a religious institution, and was told that I had to show up an hour before service in order to pray at the center, am I being denied my freedom and right to pray?

No. You still have perfect freedom to pray. You are only restricted on visiting someone else's property at the time you wish to do so. That is not a violation of your rights. Nor is this a Constitutional issue since the government is taking no part in this decision.

I agree with Mr. Harkess. The First Amendment's free exercise clause limits only what the government can do. The "religious institution" you mention isn't part of the government. It's as free to limit use of its facilities as any other property owner.
