Legal Question in Construction Law in Colorado
construction law
we signed a contract for a log package and paid 10% down to initiate the design phase--name removed--We've not received the final designs and must cancel the contract due to the economy and change in our financial situation. The cancellation fee is an additional 10%--name removed--Do we have any recourse given the fact that we haven't received the final plans and things have changed significantly since we signed the contract over 1 year ago?

Re: construction law
This will require a review of the contract and more information. Contact an attorney to conduct the review.
As a general matter, absent a contract term, the downturn is not enough to support a termination without consequence. You need to contact an attorney.
