contractor charges over original estimate
my bathroom contractor charged 2000.00 over his original bid without letting us know of the additional costs, what am I liable for?

The answer really depends on the terms and contents of the bid. Some are clearly binding contracts, others less so.
Bring the bid to an attorney for review.
