Betrayal

I was the victimized in a ''friends'' criminal activites back in 2002. As a result I lost everything, business, house..my life. Everything from taxes to medical bills I am dealing with calls daily, and these people are so rude. How can I fix this. I even did jail time becuse of this guy, charges were dismissed by the DA.

How do I get my life back?

Re: Betrayal

No easy answers here. One possibility is a lawsuit against the "friend," but my question would be whether he has any assets that could be used to satisfy a judgment. Another possibility is to file bankruptcy. With regard to the creditors who are calling you, you have some rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and there are plenty of websites that can provide information to you about that. Since it happened in 2002, you may have missed some statutes of limitations on a potential lawsuit. If this was a case of identity theft, you need to inform all the bill collectors of that in writing. Good luck.
