Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Colorado

I took a mortgage out on my house two years ago for 50000.00 to help my son consolidate all debt into one loan. He said he would make the payments of 506.00 a month. He has already missed 4 payments and now tells me he cannot make payments anymore with 40000.00 still left on loan.Is there anything I can do to recoup whats left on loan.
