Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Colorado

I recently got a judgement against a tenant here in Colorado. I realize now, she has no intention of paying her debt, and the judge suggested I try to collect thru her job (that she quit), her bank account (that is empty) or thru putting a lein on her vehicle. I can't seem to find anyone who knows how to get that done. I have make/model and plate numbers. Can you help?

The process involves what is called execution and levy on personal property. This is complicated and requires various forms and the exact requirements vary by county. Generally, after getting a judgment you can execute against any non-exempt property. You need to deliver a writ of execution to the sheriff, have service against the debtor, and identify the specific non-exempt property, among other requirements.

You should contact an attorney to discuss the above and other strategies to collect the debt. If you have not done so already, you should serve interrogatories to determine the assets and their location. Good luck.
