My wife received a summons for a credit card debt. What steps do we need to talk on this?

Re: Summons

You need to answer the complaint no later than the date on the summons or appear in the court on the day of the summons with an answer. Failure to do so will result in a default judgment against you. You should IMMEDIATELY contact and retain an attorney to defend you, as you may have defenses with respect to the lawsuit that will be waived if you do not state them in your answer, counterclaim or motion to dismiss.
