Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
My 14 year old daughter and her 17 year old ''friend''
What are the laws pertaining to my 14 year old daughter and this 17 year old boyfriend? Can she give consent? Do they have to have had sex for him to have broken any laws concerning her?

In Colorado there is a "close in age" exception, meaning that even if your 14-year-old daughter has consensual sex with her 17-year-old boyfriend, the boyfriend cannot be charged with sexual assault. The proscription at that age is at least four years.
Keep your daughter close (emotionally), counsel her, and for goodness sake teach her about safe sex, both in terms of pregnancy and disease.
