Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
21 year old misdemeanor
Assuming an individual has committed a misdemeanor 21 years ago and he failed to appear at the court for their trial, can this individual be arrested now for their crime and for FTA. And if so, what kind of penalties would they be facing?

The age of the matter does not negate it's existance. An FTA warrant likely issued in the 1980's, but was likely quashed and the case closed years ago. Closed does not mean dismissed, so don't celebrate yet. As for punishment, that all varies on the level of the misdemeanor. You should object to any effort to prosecute this case because the passage of time prevents you from presenting a defense.
