Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
Active warrant
My brother is in federal prison in oklahoma with a release date of 2010. He qualifies to be released to a halfway house this year however he must handle any active warrants. He has an active warrant in Arapahoe county colorado regarding forgery. Public defenders office says they cant take the case because its active. We have filed a motion for review. The DA denied his motion for a speedy trial. no luck. he really needs to get this handled

Re: Active warrant
Get a copy of the Mittimus Order from the Federal Court. Send it to all courts with outstanding warrants. They should dismiss the charges or run any sentence concurrent - unless they have adhered to the interstate agreement on detainers.
