Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
I was arrested for criminal mischief over 1000.00 and under 20000.00. I am waiting on a disposition hearing sometime later this year. In the mean time the insurance company that paid the damage is starting litigation. Does this mean the criminal case will go away?

No. The two are distinct and separate. The Insurance company case against you is civil in nature and they they can get a civil judgment against you. The criminal case is such you are exposed to prison time and a permanent criminal record which will affect your future.
