Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
Blackmail
My stepson and his girlfriend owe me money for a car accident. I originally falsely reported what happened and that the wreck was my fault, but later told the insurance company what really happened. Now, my stepson is threatening me to report insurance fraud so they won't have to pay the deductible they owe. Is this something I can file a suit for?

Re: Blackmail
Sounds like you committed insurance fraud. You don't have a claim based on a threat to tell the truth. You might consider suing your parents.
