Blackmail
A woman I had an affair with is asking for $3000 to prevent here from calling my wife.
How do I prove blackmail and is it worht it?

In Colorado it is called Criminal Extortion (statute is C.R.S. 18-3-207) and you may potentially have a case for that. The dilema you are going to have is that by reporting this to the police, which is the necessary first step, you will by default tell your wife about it. So it is a tough call.
