Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
Burglary/Theft
2 laptop computers were stolen from a Model Home, key was found under the welcome mat..I confessed to Police that I did it. This is my first offense, what is the best course of action to take? My bail was 1200 and a 10,000 lien placed on my Uncle's home...I am 19 yrs old. Court date is 12/29/06
I understand that this is a class 4 felony as these computers are valued at over 500...I would appreciate all information ...can I still have a public defender after telling the police that I did this?

Yes. If you otherwise qualify for a PD, get one. If not, get an attorney. Don't go forward alone.
