Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

charges of theft

I found out there is a warrant out for my arrest for felony theft ( in colorado) how do i find out what the charges are and how do i deal with them w/o serving time in jail for a trial date. I am pregnant and have a child and a job, i cann't afford any time waiting in jail!!

If you can afford it, call a lawyer. If you can't, call the public defender. Let them negotiate for you.

You can hire an attorney here in Colorado to try to negotiate a settlement of the case with the DA without you appearing until the very end of the case. I have successfully done this in the past with out of state clients. But at some point, unless the DA dismisses the case, you will eventually have to appear here. If this is a simple theft case and you can pay restitution for the value of the item, it may go a long way in settling this case in a favorable way for you. Good luck.
