charging a pistol

my wife was driving looking for our dog around the neighborhood she saw a man standing in his driveway and she pulled up to him( she was parked in the street)(she was in the car )to ask if he had seen our dog the man pulled out a pistol from his pocket and charged it chambered a round it was a semi automatic.She drove off sceaming and crying hysterical.we called the police and they have not contacted us to let us know the outcome What should we do?

Contact them.

You certainly have a right to know the outcome of any investigation the police made, or at least to know they are investigating.

If the police refuse to talk with you, ask why. It may be as simple as that they are in the midst of their investigation.

If you are unsatisfied with their answer, contact your city councilman and ask his or her intervention.

I'm sorry for your wife's encounter; it sounds very frightening. I hope too that you got your dog back.
