Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

Colorado Warrants

I have a warrant in the state of

Colorado. I have spoken to an

officer and they told me it was a

non extraditable warrant. The

warrant is for ''attempted theft''

and I have not been charged with

anything yet. So I guess it's a

warrant for questioning. Now

where I come from, a non-felony

warrant is only effective in the

county it was issued in and the

counties adjacent to it. Is it the

same in Colorado, or can I be

picked up anywhere in the state?

Re: Colorado Warrants

The warrant is good in the entire state. Transporting you, packed into a van with no a/c, heat, or room for the nine of you to sit is not "extradition". Get someone to deal with the charges that support the warrant. An attack the supporting charges will also attack the warrant. Don't do it yourself. If you show up to view an underlying case, you will simply be arrested.

Re: Colorado Warrants

Nothing's the same in Colorado. You can be arrested anywhere in the state, even in the farthest of any of the four corners. That's why they call it the Great State of Colorado.
