You will have bail set either by a bond commisioner at the jail or by a judge if you cannot make the original bail bond set by the commisioner. This will happen within 48 hours of you turning yourself in. It is best to do so Monday through Thursday, so you are assured of not sitting in jail over the weekend without seeing a judge. In a felony case, you will then be given another court date for a return on the filing of the charges, where you will be presented with papers detailing the criminal charges you are facing. If this is a misdomeaner, you may be given a summons upon your relase from jail that will tell you of the charges you are facing as well as your next court date. Good luck.

When you surrender to police, they will take you into custody. It is best that you have bond or bail already set so that you can get out of jail quickly. You'll also want to time your surrender so that you will make it in time for the advisement, so that bail can be set without you having to wait 24-26 hours (or more).

Just a guess here...but my advice is for you to call the public defender in the county in which you live.
