is it possible to have a conviction overturned if the accused accepted a deal from the DA in exchange for a guilty plea after the trial

"a guilty plea after the trial" Why plead guilty after the trial? If acquitted, your done. If convicted, why would the DA make an offer in exchange for a plea?
